This consultation has concluded.
In the past Council has been proactive in its encouragement of outdoor dining venues Council wide becoming smoke free through an incentive scheme offering a substantial reduction in fees. Moving forward, Council's aim is to continue its proactive approach to providing a healthy and vibrant Rundle Mall for its users.
As such, Council has developed a proposed By-Law for Rundle Mall and its vicinity.
Council recently sought feedback regarding the proposed By-Law 10 to control smoking in Rundle Mall. The By-Law will give Council the ability to manage smoking in Rundle Mall and the streets/lanes off Rundle Mall.

Council recently sought feedback regarding the proposed By-Law 10 to control smoking in Rundle Mall, with over 70 submissions being recieved.
The proposed By-Law 10 was presented to Council's Community Services and Events Committee on 13 March 2012 for discussion and review.
On Tuesday 27 March, Council endorsed the implementation of By-Law 10 – Smoking Control for Rundle Mall. This has now been forwarded to the Legislative Review Committee for consideration and gazettal.
