Council is responsible for the management and ongoing sustainability of the Park Lands and its buildings. This includes maintaining the condition of the Park Lands buildings and managing the leases and licences with the various occupiers and user groups.
Council (in consultation with user groups of the Park Lands facilities) has developed a Property Strategy for the Park Lands which reflects a balance between Council's responsibility and the community's needs.

Council endorsed the Parklands Property Strategy for implementation
Council is responsible for the management and ongoing sustainability of the Park Lands and its buildings. This includes maintaining the condition of the Park Lands buildings and managing the leases and licences with the various occupiers and user groups.
Council (in consultation with user groups of the Park Lands facilities) developed the Draft Park Lands Property Strategy for buildings located in the Park Lands which reflects a balance between Council's responsibility and the community's needs.
At its meeting on 31 January 2012, Council endorsed the strategy for implementation in February 2012. Council has started the negotiation process with a number of lessees in the Park Lands and will continue these discussions with other lessees in due course.

The Draft Park Land Property Strategy went out to public consultation for 28 days between 28 November 2011 and 23 December 2011. During this time Council received submissions relating primarily to the circumstances of individual Lessees and how these would be dealt with in the context of the Park Lands Property Strategy’s implementation. There was no negative feedback relating to the Park Lands Property Strategy itself.
